Velorution is a really great bicycle store not too far from London’s Oxford Street. It also has a retail website which is accompanied by one of the best branded blogs I have seen in a long time. http://www.velorution.biz/articles/
I love it because
1 It looks great. The designers YesStudios have have created a very clean, but functional lay out with great use of both images and video
2 The blog is dual format – so you can have a traditional style, or a Tumblr-esque page of thumbnails. Very cute
3 The content is great – nice videos, striking images and useful news such as the update on the electric Brompton and the guided London rides
4 It is constantly updated – There’s always something new
5 Yet at the same time it probably doesn’t take a great deal of time
IMO it is a text book example of how mid to high end stores can produce striking and engaging content quickly and easily. The only thing I’d add is that they really ought to be upping their social media game. There’s a Twitter account but it isn’t much more than the blog’s RSS feed. There doesn’t seem to be a lot of chatting to customers going on either on the blog or on the Twitter feed.
