I think it probably is. The Murdoch papers can’t get Cameron into number 10 without a Clegg shaped Albatross round his neck. Meanwhile The Guardian has given up telling its readers who to vote for and is instead asking them to choose. I still think Labour could end up being the biggest party with the support of just one paper, the Mirror.

Social media and TV have rendered newspapers politically impotent at election time and in five years time, with circulations falling off a cliff and readers promiscuously flitting from one media source to another online, papers’ views will be irrelevant.
