Not The Same Old Blues Crap Celebrate Their Fifth Anniversary

Oh goody, the magnificent Jim Jones Revue are about to unleash their second album Here To Save Your Soul, a collection of the band’s singles, on October 5th. Unleash is probably about right if their stunning debut is anything to go by. The band are currently steamrollering their way across the UK and Ireland as follows:

Friday 18 Pet Sounds @ Club Cooler , Bristol
Saturday 19 The GoGo Cage @ The Zanzibar, Liverpool
Sunday 20 The Cluny, Newcastle
Tuesday 22 Brudenell Social Club, Leeds
Wednesday 23 Mono, Glasgow
Thursday 24 Sandino’s, Derry
Friday 25 The Open House Festival, Belfast
Saturday 26 Whelans, Dublin
Sunday 27 Crane Lane Theatre, Cork

Thursday 1 NTSOBC @ Cargo, London
Friday 2 The Engine Room, Brighton
Saturday 3 The Railway Hotel, Southend-On-Sea

Thence off to destroy Europe. All dates can be found on the band’s myspace.

The London date is not only the album launch but it closes a series of London-based gigs celebrating guitarist Rupert Orton’s Not The Same Old Blues Crap’s fifth anniversary. As Rupert says, “five glorious years of primal blues mayhem!”

The bad news is this celebration has already begun with performances by T-Model Ford (Did you hear him on Tom Robinson’s 6Music show last Friday night? – he’s the real deal!) and the legendary Bob Logg III.

However, several dates remain prior to the Cargo show.  Tickets from NTSOBC box office: 0844 477 1000 or online.

Friday 25 Sept David Honeyboy Edwards + Les Copeland 7.30 pm The Luminaire

Monday 28 Sept The Handsome Family Bush Hall 7.30 pm Bush Hall

Tuesday 29 Sept Agnostic Mountain Gospel Choir 7.30 pm The Luminaire

Wednesday 30 Sept Kelly Joe Phelps + Lucy Ann Sale 8.00 pm Union Chapel
